How do I read the code date on my BAKER'S Coconut? |
|
A:
|
All of our products have what is called a "code date". This date can be a "best when used by date" or a "Julian Code Date". The bags of BAKER'S Coconut have a Julian Code Date whereas the can has a "Best When Used By Date". This coding information can be found on the back of the bag or on the bottom of the can.
A Julian Code Date is the date the product was manufactured. An example of a Julian Code would be: 9003A2
In this example, the "9" designates the year (1999), the next three digits "003" designate day number 3 of the 365 days possible. So we know this product was manufactured on January 3, 1999. The next letter (A) identifies the production plant and the "2" represents the shift. The expiration date would be 18 months from that date which in this case would be July 3, 2000.
If you have a can of BAKER'S Coconut, there is a "Best When Used By Date" that is embossed on the bottom of the can.
An example would be: 15JUL2005 P 1 and the expiration date would be July 15, 2005. We strongly recommend consuming the product by this date.
