Q: What does "certified Organic" mean?
A:

To be certified Organic, all of the ingredients must meet National Organic Program requirements, including

· Rennet and enzymes that are from non-animal sources

· Organic milk that is sourced from cows that are not treated with rBGH growth hormone, other added hormones or antibiotics

· Organic milk that is sourced from cows that have been raised within USDA NOP livestock handling and feeding requirements

· Organic ingredient suppliers must also be certified against Organic requirements.

Products that are certified organic will either carry the USDA organic seal or state that it is made with organic ingredient on the front panel. It will also state in the ingredient line that it is certified organic by USDA-approved Quality Certification Services, Inc.
