Q: How do I read the code date on my JELL-O Gelatin?
A:

All of our products have what is called a code date.  This date will be a "Best When Used By" date and this coding information can be found on the box flap.

There are 2 different formats that may appear and they are:

23AUG06 D211:40

23 = Day of Expiration
AUG = Month (August)
06 = Year of Expiration
D = Plant Code
2 = Production Line
11:40 = Hour of Production Run

Or the "Use By Date" may appear as follows:

Aug 23 06 D3 21:13
Aug = Month of Expiration
23 = Day of Expiration
06 = Year of Expiration
D = Plant Code
3 = Production Line
21:13 = Hour of Production Run

The product should be consumed by this date.  We cannot assure freshness after that date because the taste and texture may have deteriorated.
