Q: I've had my KRAFT Natural Shredded Cheese in my refrigerator for a while now, how can I tell if it has expired?
A: All of our products have what is called a code date. This date can be considered a Best When Used By Date . The Best When Used By Date is located on the front of the packaging in the following format:

Example: Aug-19-99S-2

Aug-19-99 = The Best When Used By Date is August, 19, 1999
S = Plant Code
2 = Production Code

By using the Best When Used By Date you can be assured of receiving a product at peak flavor and freshness at the time of purchase and for a reasonable period of time thereafter when stored unopened under proper home storage conditions.

At home, be aware of these dates also and try to use the product before or shortly after this date has passed.
